Who We Are
Matthew 9:38 Ministries is a division of SittingRooms Ministry. SittingRooms (SRM) was founded in 2010 by Sonya Cherici to encourage Christian women to live authentic lives of faith. In 2013, SR Community Outreach was launched as a door-to-door ministry under the SittingRooms umbrella. SR Community Outreach has a history of successfully engaging local communities with the gospel and training churches to do the same. The name was changed to Matthew 9:38 Ministries in 2021 when Ed Abels joined the team. Services were expanded to partner with individuals, and ministries to promote evangelism as a key component of Christian ministry. We believe that authentic church growth comes from evangelizing new converts as guided by the Holy Spirit.
Since its inception in 2013, Matthew 9:38's goal has been to reach the lost; taking advantage of various opportunities as afforded. It has engaged the community in servant evangelism, personal evangelism and prayer evangelism. Today, the ministry encourages fulfillment of the Great Commission by supporting individuals, churches and other Christian ministries with training and resources to help them prioritize evangelism. Evangelism was a priority in the early church and should continue to be today. Matthew 9:38 is calling the church back to the heart of Christ: reaching out to the lost through intentional evangelism.
Mission
Matthew 9:38 is a non-denominational, Christian ministry established in 2013 to serve and support the needs of local communities. It also partners with individuals, churches, and ministries by offering training, and resources to equip them to serve the same populations.
Vision
Our goal is to help ensure that individuals, Christian churches, and other organizations are equipped and actively multiplying knowledge in various forms within their surrounding communities.
